Cicada Park

A fantasy world you can talk to, built by one person directing AI agents.

The game

An online fantasy world in development

Cicada Park is an online role-playing game for the desktop and the browser: a long summer valley, its towns and wild places, and people who answer when you speak to them in your own words. Their minds run on the player's own computer, so every conversation is new.

The world is not open yet. When it is, you will play it here, in your browser.

AI-driven game development

Made with AI, from the first line to the last creature

It all starts from a detailed written specification of the game: every rule, place, person and screen, written down before the first line of code. From it, the whole game — server, 3-D client, world builder, website, economy and every creature — is being built by one person directing AI agents, with image and 3-D models and local language models running on one ordinary gaming PC. Sixteen days in:

195 000lines of code
1 300automated tests
20quests, each played by a robot player in a real browser
16 daysfrom the first commit
A painted bramble boar on the left; on the right the same boar as a 3-D model in the game, seen from three sides
A creature from a painted picture to a model that walks, fights and falls in the game.

The AI Game Recipe coming

How we do it, written down: working from a specification with AI agents, the AI models you may legally use in a paid game, from pictures to 3-D models that move, characters that talk, and a robot player that finds what tests miss. With the mistakes that cost us time, so they don't cost you yours.

It will be available when the game opens. Meanwhile, free: Which AI models can you legally use in a paid game?
